Internship Cancelled!
When the pandemic began, I remember packing up three years of my college life into boxes, rushing to go back home. What I didn’t realize is that I wouldn’t be coming back for months. I went from my set plan of going to New York City to moving back home in Hong Kong. Yes, Hong Kong in Asia.
It was also quite nerve-wrecking when the pandemic hit, because I wasn’t sure if MAIP was still on and if I was employed this summer. When MAIP announced that it would still continue, I was ecstatic! I was definitely disappointed to hear that my internship was cancelled, but I knew that as long as I kept busy I would be growing my strategic and advertising capabilities. It was even more exciting to hear that we would get training from multiple advertising. In some ways, I feel blessed that MAIP is virtual, because it seems like we would be getting more training and opportunities than the typical program. Not only will I be able to strengthen my strategic capabilities, but I can learn the other disciplines such as copywriting and design.
